Charlie’s Last Day!

After Tony Morrison managed to retire after 42 years of service, Charlie Chambers decided to go a little further before retiring himself after an incredible 43 years.

Charlie was always a great welder at Shand but, more importantly, he was also a great team member who over the years trained many of the existing welders. The vast majority of welding procedures that the company had approved were welded by Charlie.

He was well thought of by both his colleagues and the management team. He was always keen to be socially involved so Charlie was a regular at team social events outside of work and would have many a story to tell. In addition Charlie’s sickness record was second to none, having worked for many years without a single day off sick.

Charlie is a sad loss, but we wish him a long, healthy and fun retirement.
